Tonbridge Angels and Bromley both stopped the rot with a boisterous 2-2 Boxing Day derby draw in Blue Square Bet South at Hayes Lane.
It was just Bromley’s second point from nine league games while Mikel Suarez's late leveller ended a run of two straight defeats, and three in four, for 10-man Angels and their boss Tommy Warrilow, pictured, although both sides will have wanted a victory.
The hosts took the lead through Orlando Smith’s speculative shot on five minutes which managed to evade Lee Worgan.
Ibra Sekajja should have made it 2-0 10 minutes later, but fired over the bar instead of finding unmarked strike-partner Hakeem Araba, and just after the half-hour a trademark Frannie Collin free-kick was tipped on to the bar by Lloyd Anderson.
Worgan denied former Angel Rory Hill at the other end before Scott Kinch rattled the post after a fine move on the stroke of half-time.
After the break Kinch somehow headed over in front of an open goal, but defender Sonny Miles made amends four minutes after the interval, rifling Collin’s deflected cross into the net.
Angels' task was made harder when Robbie Kember was sent off for picking up a second yellow in a feisty game, which saw several flare-ups, and soon after Kinch needed to clear a Marlon Patterson free-kick off his own line with Worgan beaten.
The hosts thought they had won it when Hill earned a dubious spot-kick on the hour, which was awarded by the assistant referee, and Araba stepped up to send Worgan the wrong way, but the keeper kept it at 2-1 with a superb reflex save from Taylor Parmenter and then produced a double stop to thwart Smith and Sekajja.
His heroics kept Angels alive until three minutes from time when Danny Walder’s long throw found its way to substitute Suarez, who rasped a shot home to make it 2-2.
Worgan again denied Araba and Gareth Williams in a hectic finale as the point kept Bromley in 19th, three points clear of the drop zone having played a game more than two of the three sides below them, while Angels stay 12th, 10 points outside the play-off places.
