A bus driver was reportedly pushed to the floor and punched in the face after an altercation with a passenger.

The victim, who is understood to work for Arriva, needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The suspect is reported to have fled the scene.

It happened at The Mall bus station in Maidstone at around 11.30am yesterday (Thursday, December 12) and police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to interview in connection with the assault.

He is in his 20s, with black hair and a moustache.
