Bypass closed after crash

The entire length of Lamberhurst bypass has been closed in both directions following a crash.

Police say a sweeper lorry had broken down in the first lane of the Northbound carriageway of the A21, when a car collided into cones, swerved across the carriageway, then crashed into another vehicle and through the central reservation.

The male driver of the car sustained minor injuries to his hands, but was otherwise uninjured.

The road was closed in both directions after the accident at 1.40pm on Wednesday, January 11, and drivers were being diverted through Lamberhurst village.
