A faulty overhead cable caused a village road to be closed for almost 12 hours.
Kent Highways said a dangerous BT line had been reported in Water Lane, Hawkhurst, at about 6pm yesterday.
Drivers were diverted away from the area while engineers worked to fix the problem.
The route reopened about 8am.
