A teenager who has beaten cancer was given a police escort from his home to kick off a visit to Maidstone police station.
Charlie Denyer, 15, was given a tour and a demonstration of various departments in the police force after he told his local PCSO it was his ambition to be part of the police force one day.
Accompanied by his family, Charlie met members of the police dog team, the police motorcycle team, as well as the firearms unit who demonstrated how their resources are used in the police force.
He was also given a special police t-shirt to remember his visit.
PCSO Dave Earl, the local community officer for Shepway South said: "The visit went very well and I think Charlie and his family thoroughly enjoyed seeing how we work at Maidstone police. I understand that it is Charlie’s ambition to join the police force one day and I hope that seeing how the different departments work together will inspire him to reach his goal."
