An accident has blocked the A229 and A249 near the Wheatsheaf junction in Maidstone this evening.

The accident happened at around 6pm at the junction of the Loose Road with Sutton Road and is believed to have involved a cyclist and a car.

There are no details yet about any injuries.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
