Drivers faced delays heading into a town centre following an accident.

One lane on Loose Road in Maidstone was blocked after a car and lorry crashed.

The accident happened at around 12.45pm, with both police and ambulance in attendance.

Officers had sectioned off an area by the traffic lights at the junction with Armstrong Road.

The ambulance service confirmed they had been called to the scene.

Crews assessed and treated two people before discharging them from their care.

A spokesman from the police added: “One person suffered minor injuries and the vehicles are currently awaiting recovery.”

The road was then cleared and traffic returned to normal just after 3pm.
