Vandals slash tyres and cover car in paint in Wrangelden Road, Park Wood, Maidstone

An estate in Maidstone has been left shocked after vandals slashed a car's tyres and covered it in paint.

Retired supermarket worker David Stubberfield was out walking his dog when he spotted the damage in Wrangelden Road, Park Wood.

The 75-year-old said: "I couldn't understand it, I don't know if there's something personal that's happened, but everyone has been pretty shocked by it.

"Park Wood isn't always the nicest place to live, especially because of the amount of people you see creeping about at night who seem to be up to no good.

"You never see police walking through the estate or anything and my back door is always locked when I'm in the house - I wouldn't say I feel safe."

Kent Police said it had no record of a reported incident from Wrangelden Road on its log.
