A set of traffic lights in Maidstone have been knocked down following a crash.

At around 8.50pm on Sunday police were called to Hermitage Lane at the junction with Fullingpits Avenue to reports a car had collided with the lights.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service where a woman was treated for minor injuries.

The road near Maidstone Hospital was closed while arrangements were made to recover the vehicle.

Two fire engines also attended and crews helped to make the scene safe by dealing with a fuel spillage.
