A driver and pedestrian were lucky to escape unhurt after a vehicle fell off a car transporter.

The accident happened in College Road, Maidstone, when the transporter stopped at the junction with Knightrider Street just before 11.30am today.

The driver, who did not wish to be named, said: “ I just braked at the lights and it shot off the top. It nearly hit a woman but she was fine and walked off; she was more bothered about me.

“I was quite shaken.”
