A car fire forced part of a road to be closed earlier this morning.

Police and firefighters were called at around 9.55am to the blaze on the A229 in Loose Road, Maidstone, at its junction with Armstrong Road.

Officers attended and carried out traffic control while fire crews extinguished the blaze.

Patrols are at the scene and one lane is closed on the Maidstone-bound carriageway while arrangements are made to recover the vehicle.
