A car believed to be less than three weeks old caught fire in front of a popular restaurant this evening.
The Toyota 4X4, which according to witnesses had a 64 plate, pulled into Chatham Road before the owner went into the Harvester Restaurant, near the Running Horse Roundabout.
A barman called Arron then carried a fire extinguisher to the scene and put out a small engine fire.
He said: "It happened at about 5.45pm and it wasn't a big fire, but I could smell it as I made my way up. There was smoke coming from the engine though."
