FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a car fire after a vehicle was vandalised outside the owner's home.

A crew from Maidstone was called out to a burning Vauxhall Astra estate on Allen Street, Maidstone at 2.20am on Wednesday.

The tyres had been slashed, the rear light and a window were broken and the back seat had been set alight.

Police were informed of the incident, but did not attend.

A firefighter said: "It was a deliberate ignition."
