A care worker was robbed at knife-point while he was pushing a man in a wheelchair, in a "despicable" daytime raid.
Two men approached the victim at around 10.40am last Friday as he was walking through an alleyway near Froyle Close in the direction of London Road.
It is alleged one of the men produced a three-inch knife and held it towards the victim, demanding his wallet.
When he refused to hand it over the second man repeatedly punched him in the head.
One of the offenders is then reported to have snatched a rucksack attached to the back of the wheelchair, which spilled across the pavement.
The men fled with wallets belonging to both the victim and the man in the wheelchair. These both contained bank cards and cash.
Officers investigating the incident have now released descriptions of the suspects.
The first man was slim, white, and in his 20s with mousy coloured hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and light coloured slim fit jeans.
"The impact of this crime will not only have traumatised the victim but it is likely to also have a profound effect on the man in his care" - DC Stuart Cook
The second man was also slim, white, and in his 20s but around 6ft 2ins. He had spiky dark brown hair and was wearing a charcoal tracksuit top and bottoms.
Detective Constable Stuart Cook said: "This was an attack on a man who was caring for someone with very complex needs.
"The impact of this crime will not only have traumatised the victim but it is likely to also have a profound effect on the man in his care, who was completely helpless as these men carried out this despicable act."
