An exhibition by iconic cartoonist Ralph Steadman has proved a massive draw for Maidstone Museum.
Visitor economy marketing manager, Laura Dickson, reported to yesterday's Town Centre Management meeting that the response had been "phenomenal".
The exhibition, Ralph Steadman: A Retrospective, which is on at the museum at St Faiths Street, has been open less than five weeks and has attracted more than 500 visitors so far.
There is a small charge to enter, which is unusual for the venue, of £3 for adults and £2 for concessions. It runs until February 28.
Ms Dickson said: "There has been a huge response to it."
Part of the draw is that visitors can enter a competition which could win them a signed print of the cartoonist's work.
Visitors can choose their favourite work on display and enter by explaining why on an entry form there. The artist himself will judge the entries.
There's quite a prize at stake - the chance to win an A1 signed print of that work.
