Crowds are expected to flock to Maidstone this weekend for the town's first ever cheese festival.

Cheese Fest UK starts at the Kent Showground in Detling today, offering a host of quality dairy products for hungry visitors to try and buy.

The event boasts hundreds of different types of cheeses, with a selection of craft beers and wines also available to help wash them down.

The festival was initially only scheduled for Saturday but "unprcedented" ticket sales saw organisers extend the event to Sunday as well.
