Tonbridge are three points above the Blue Square Bet South drop zone with three games to play after they lost at Chelmsford on Monday night.

Jamie Slabber put the home side in front on 13 minuets when his glancing header struck the post on its way into the net.

And the Clarets led 2-0 just after the half-hour mark. Justin Miller’s shot deflected into the path of Slabber, whose effort flew past Lee Worgan, pictured, and went in via the underside of the bar.

David Ijaha saw a long-range strike fly just over for Angels, while Chelmsford’s Inaki Calvo curled a shot past the post at the other end.

With two minutes left, Mikel Suarez pulled a goal back for Tonbridge from close-range but it came too late for the visitors to salvage anything.

Tommy Warrilow’s side must now wait on Tuesday's results, with two of the sides below them in action. Maidenhead visit Dorchester and Billericay host Staines.
