Bags filled with chicken offal have been left on a road - just a day after residents fed up with litter and fly tipping cleared it.
Mary Henderson was driving near Otham along Caring Lane, close where it becomes Back Street, when she saw the bags.
"We stopped because we had cleaned the road yesterday," she explained.
"There were these four big bags lying on the side of the road.
"When I went near them I could see amputated chicken feet."
As well as feet, the bin bags appear to contain feathers, chicken heads and other unwanted cuts of meat.
"The smell was awful," Mrs Henderson added.
She said she contacted Maidstone Borough Council after making the grim discovery, but was told as the bags aren't obstructing the road they won't be removed until Monday.
A Maidstone Borough Council spokesman said the bags are due to be collected on Monday.
