Music fans could be spoilt for choice next summer as rival promoters squared up to claim they would be running the same festivals - at least in name.

Just days

after an announcement that a new promoter had been found

for the Hop Farm Festival at Paddock Wood, the original promoter Vince Power took to Facebook to declare he would be also be organising a festival under the same name - but at a different but undisclosed location somewhere in Tunbridge Wells.

In a statement posted on the website, Mr Power said: "?Vince Power?s Hop Farm Music Festival is set to return to Kent in 2014, at a new site in Tunbridge Wells.

"Having used the Hop Farm Family Park to stage five Hop Farm Festivals Vince Power has secured a new site in Tunbridge Wells for the 2014 event."

It went on: "?Reports suggest that another festival is to be hosted on The Hop Farm Family Park site, called the Hop Farm Music Festival, but this event has no association with the well-established Hop Farm Music Festival.

"This is an unfamiliar event organised by an entirely different promoter and team.

"Despite the naming of this event it is not in any way connected with the esteemed Hop Farm Music Festival.?"

This year's festival was abandoned due to poor ticket sales and the recession, leaving fans to wonder if Kent had lost a major event in the festival calendar.

Now it appears they could be spoilt for choice.

Earlier this week, UK Events and Promotions duo, Neil Butkeraitis and Ian Roberts announced a new "boutique" style Hop Farm Festival would take place next July on a smaller scale.
