Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes has publicly quizzed chief constable Ian Learmonth over the force's performance for the first time.

The Governance Board meeting was held at Kent Police headquarters in Sutton Road, Maidstone, on Wednesday, March 20.

The commissioner raised concerns over a slowing rate of crime reduction between November and February, but the chief constable stressed Kent remained one of the safest counties to live in.
