Southeastern has apologised after hundreds of rail commuters faced rush hour chaos last night.
Signal problems between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells caused delays of up to three hours.
Passengers travelling from London were forced off trains and onto replacement buses.
Unfortunately, bus services laid on by Network Rail were also found wanting.
One angry passenger, who was travelling from Victoria to Hastings summed up his frustration via Twitter at about 8pm.
He said: "London to Hastings, train chaos. Changed at Tonbridge for bus, no bus.
"Got on train, going nowhere, got off train… joy."
A spokesman for Southeastern said: "We apologise for the delays and can assure passengers that we did all we could to ensure Network Rail solved the problem as quickly as possible."
