A motorcyclist has been treated for minor injuries after a crash in Maidstone town centre.

The incident happened just after 8am on Wednesday, in Wheeler Street, Maidstone, when a car and a motorbike collided.

It is understood the driver of the car - Maidstone Council's assistant director of development, Brian Morgan - was trying to get out the way of an ambulance on its way to a 999 call.

The ambulance stopped to treat the motorcyclist for minor injuries. Another ambulance was sent to the original call.
