An elderly couple came to the rescue of a young girl when she was assaulted by two youths.

The pensioners came to 15-year-old's aid after the alleged attack in Granville Road, Maidstone, on Tuesday.

The good Samaritans comforted the teen and gave her money to get the train back home to Sittingbourne.

The incident happened between 2pm and 8pm. The victim told police she was assaulted by a boy and a girl, who are both in their early teens.

Officers would like to speak to the couple who helped the girl and to anyone else who saw the assault.
