A crash between a car and a lorry brought a section of the M2 to a standstill.

It happened on the exit slip road of the M2 at Junction 3 for the A229 at around 6pm.

A lorry was blocking the central lane on approach of the roundabout and another vehicle is obstructing the left hand lane.

Highways officials later confirmed traffic returned to normal at around 6.35pm.
