Two crashes involving several vehicles caused delays for people heading into Maidstone today.

Drivers were warned to expect queues on the A229 Blue Bell Hill after a collision on the south-bound carriageway.

The incident was reported just after 7.50am.

It's understood at least four vehicles were involved in the smash. No serious injuries have been reported.

At 9.45am, Kent Highways tweeted a lane was blocked on the Maidstone-bound carriageway due to another multi-vehicle crash.

A van and an HGV collided just after Jade's Crossing. Crews Kent Fire and Rescue Service were sent out to the scene but were stood down.

Both areas have now been cleared.
