Motorists were caught in a three-mile tail-back on the M2 this morning as a result of an accident on Blue Bell Hill.
A motorcyclist came off his machine on the southern-bound carriageway of the A229 at 7.20am this morning, near the Shell Garage.
He was taken to hospital but his injuries were thought to be minor.
No other vehicles were involved. However, one lane of Blue Bell Hill was closed for an hour while the wreckage was cleared, and traffic quickly backled up the hill to junction 3 and then on to the motorway.
The road was re-opened at 8.25am.
