A main road to the south of Maidstone has been closed this afternoon after a three-vehicle crash.

Three people were taken to hospital and the A274 Headcorn Road at Sutton Valence is shut in both directions after two cars and a van collided just after midday.

Three ambulances, supported by three cars, were sent to the crash site and the patients, including a woman in her 30s suffering from back pain, were taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

The closure is between South Lane and High Street.

Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening.
