A countryside road was closed this morning while police recovered a car from a hedge.

Officers were called to Old Tree Lane, in Boughton Monchelsea, at about 6.15am, and found an abandoned vehicle in the bushes.

Emergency services closed the route between The Quarries and Green Lane while the car was removed.

The scene was cleared just after 8.30am but the road remains shut to traffic until about 9.10am.
