Firefighters were called to a grass fire next to a motorway.

Two fire engines were sent to put out the blaze on a grass verge on the M20 slip road at Junction 8 for Hollingbourne, Maidstone, at 1.32pm today.

Crews extinguished the flames on the London-bound carriageway using a hose reel jet, and the fire was out by 1.57pm.

No injuries were reported and the cause is unknown.
