Cinema lovers in Maidstone can look forward to a touch of luxury when they visit the screens at the Maidstone Odeon later this month.
The cinema chain has announced it is re-opening after Covid later with brand new luxury seating.
The cinema in Barker Street has been upgraded to a "luxe" cinema, similar to its venue at Swiss Cottage in London.
A spokesman said: "The new Odeon has been carefully designed to meet government guidelines and to give guests and colleagues confidence and reassurance."
It will feature 615 brand new, handmade recliner seats across the eight refurbished screens, including a cutting-edge iSense screen, giving "the clearest sound and brightest picture."
The seats provide triple the leg room and greater personal space, both for comfort and safety.
The sound system too has been upgraded and will now project sound from more than 130 speakers using Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound and new multi-channel amplifiers.
The chain's cinemas have been closed across the country for the past six months.
Among the new Covid measures being introduced is a limited seat-sale policy, so that guests can be assured there will be a vacant seat between their own party and other customers.
General manager Ania Karnas said: “We are delighted to upgrade Odeon Maidstone to a Luxe cinema, bringing the premium experience to Maidstone film fans as they return to the big screen.
"We are looking forward to welcoming the local community through our doors, and have introduced comprehensive new measures to deliver a safer cinema experience for all.”
The re-opening is promised for October but an exact date has not yet been announced.
