A father is urging the authorities to do something about a pile of rubbish at the property next door – even though it belongs to his son.
Barton Tarry, 80, who owns Neverend Farm at Pye Corner in Ulcombe insists a pile of plastic waste at neighbouring Little Neverend Farm is a fire hazard.
But the recycling site, owned by Martin Tarry, is completely legitimate and fully complies with regulations and licences.
There was a blaze at the property in July 2015, which needed 45 firefighters to put out.
At its height, a huge black cloud could be seen as far away as Sittingbourne.
Martin Tarry, 48, believes the fire was arson.
He runs the business from his property, taking in deliveries from farms across the county and storing them on site, before they are baled and taken away for recycling.
But Barton Tarry claims the waste keeps accumulating.
He said: “There’s a huge pile just 20m from by bedroom window.”
His son denies that there is a problem.
He said: “Unfortunately my father and I fell out over a completely different matter several years ago
“Since then, he’s had a vendetta against me.
“My business is 100% legitimate and I have all the necessary licences and permissions in place.
“My business is part of a nationwide farm waste recycling scheme.”
Barton Tarry conceded when he reported the situation to the Environment Agency, its enforcement manager told him his son had the correct permissions in place and there was no evidence of illegal activity.
He admitted there had been a family falling out as long ago as 2012, but insists that has nothing to do with the current situation.
He said: “We just don’t want another fire.”
