A drug dealer who travelled from London into Kent to sell heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed.
Police followed 21-year-old Kane White back to a Maidstone hotel after watching him sell drugs to a known heroin addict in the town last year.
A search of his hotel room revealed a lock knife along £1,300 in cash and cannabis.
On top of his bed were 100 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.
White told police he was being forced to sell drugs by another dealer from Lewisham, in order to pay off a debt.
But witnesses revealed White had been a regular visitor to the hotel on St Michael's Road during the previous month.
White, formerly of Lewisham Road, Lewisham, admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply, possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis and possession of criminal property (namely the £1,300 in cash.)
On Monday, March 12, he was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment.
Ch Insp Mick Gardner said: "The sentencing of Kane White is yet another example of how just how effective our officers continue to be, in dealing with those who try to sell drugs in Maidstone.
"Support from the public also remains invaluable and over the past year this has been vital in helping us detect and also deter drug dealers from targeting this town.
"A significant number of criminals are now behind bars, but it is important to remain focused and we are never complacent.
"There remains a lot of hard work to do, to deal with people like White whose actions can really devastate people’s lives."
