Paddock Wood drug dealer who wrapped cocaine in lottery tickets jailed

A Paddock Wood drug dealer who supplied cocaine wrapped in lottery tickets has been jailed.

Danny Lee was sentenced to three years in prison when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.

Kent Police executed a search warrant at Lee’s home in Cogate Road in October 2016, forcing entry to the property. Lee was found in a bedroom and a search led officers to seize drugs stored within wardrobes, in two separate tubs.

A total of 46 wraps containing high purity cocaine were found. EuroMillions lottery tickets had been used to make the wraps. The drugs were located next to tick lists of customers. Cash totalling £680 was also recovered from the address.

Lee, aged 38, refused to comment during a police interview and at Maidstone Crown Court he initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. But on Monday, he changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Detective Constable Lisa Stevens said: "Over the past few years we have been working relentlessly to tackle both the misuse and supply of drugs. Our officers have extensive knowledge of known users and also the criminals who attempt to operate within our communities and this is really crucial in enabling us to identify and stop people like Lee.

"The support we receive from residents continues to be so important, so please remember to report anything that may seem suspicious. Your help and information is invaluable and ensures places like Paddock Wood remain a safe place to live."
