Drivers are being advised to avoid an area after a car burst into flames near a busy road.

All lanes were closed on the approaches to the M20 Junction 7 roundabout near Eclipse Park, in Maidstone, earlier today.

Emergency services were at the scene but no injuries have been reported.

At least two fire engines worked to put out the blaze.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to a vehicle fire between junction 6 and 7 on the M20 at 12:19.

"A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

"The scene was left in the care of the Highways Agency."

All delays have now cleared, three hours after the incident was reported.
