Motorists have a double whammy of misery heading into Maidstone today - delays... and the stink after a sewage lorry shed its load.
The vehicle is at a standstill on Detling Hill while highways teams work to clear the obstruction.
The incident, which happened near Jade's Crossing just before 8am, is causing disruption heading towards Sittingbourne.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 7.45am on Tuesday, December 1, to a report that a lorry carrying sewage had shed its load on the A249 Detling Hill. Highways has been advised."
The road has since been reopened.
