The M20 has reopened following an earlier crash.
Emergency services had to close part of the M20 this morning after a crash between a lorry and a car at about 8.30am.
The air ambulance was called to take away a casualty with serious injuries.
London-bound the motorway had been shut from Junction 3, M26 to M25 (Swanley Interchange) and coast-bound it was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
The coast-bound route reopened later in the morning although traffic in the area is slow.
Highways England had said that delays could go through to lunchtime but that was later revised until later in the afternoon.
However the route has now fully reopened but drivers are being warned to expect traffic to be heavy.
A spokesman from Kent Police said: "Kent Police and Highways England are dealing with a serious collision involving a car and lorry on the M20 between Junctions 3 and 2 London-bound.
"That section of the motorway is currently closed and the Air Ambulance is attending to deal with a casualty who is reported to have serious injuries.
"There is a diversion on the M26 and motorists are being advised to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

"The patience and co-operation of those affected by the delays is appreciated and Kent Police will work with Highways England to deal with the incident as quickly as possible.
"Motorists are being warned NOT to use the hard shoulder to avoid the delay as we need to keep it clear for emergency services."
