A crash reported to involve as many as 12 lorries caused delays on the M20 this evening.

The accident happened coastbound near the junction with the M26.

It is not clear how many of the lorries collided, if any, but about a dozen trucks were seen pulled over on the hard shoulder just before 7pm.

It is not thought the accident is serious and several drove away shortly afterwards.

The incident caused long delays but was cleared by 8pm.
