There are delays on two major routes into Maidstone this morning following a crash in north Kent.

Congestion is being reported on the south-bound carriageway of the A229 Chatham Road at Blue Bell Hill, due to people avoiding the A2.

A car and a lorry collided just after the exit for Pepperhill at 6.30am, causing a lane to be shut just before the junction for Ebbsfleet and Northfleet.

There are also delays being reported on the A249 into Maidstone, with queues stretching back to Detling Hill.
