POLICE are keen to talk to a woman believed to have taken pictures of a man causing damage to the ATM and windows at the Maidstone branch of Barclays Bank.

The incident occurred on October 4 when the man approached the bank with a hammer at around 7.25am. He struck repeated blows at the windows, door and ATM, causing damaged estimated at £4,000.

The offender then ran off towards a subway at the bottom of the high street. He is described as being aged between 25 and 30, dark European in colour, and about 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a white baseball cap, purple sports t-shirt, and white trainers.

A police spokeswoman said: "A lady is believed to have taken photos of the incident as it occurred and we are requesting that she, or anyone else who may have witnessed the incident, to come forward.
