Malling's dedicated blood donors were honoured at an awards ceremony organised by NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT).

They were among 87 Kent and south east London volunteers who had donated at least 75 times each and are estimated to have helped save nearly 23,000 lives.

Alan Scutt from Leybourne, Marilyn Parsons from East Malling and Anthony Cooper from West Malling were among volunteers rewarded. Each was presented with a crystal trophy at the Bexleyheath ceremony.
