A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a three-car crash shut a road.
Officers were called to Lower Road, Maidstone, at around 6.15pm following the collision.
They were joined by paramedics and the fire service where three drivers received medical attention for their injuries.
One was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
A police spokesman said: "A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken into custody."
The fire service confirmed they had to cut the roof of the car to free one person who was trapped inside.
A spokesman said: "Hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of one of the vehicles and free one person who was trapped by their injuries.
"The casualty was passed into the care of SECAmb, along with three other people involved in the incident.
"Firefighters also helped to make the scene safe, before leaving duty of care with Kent Police."
Concerned residents took to social media after seeing the road closure, unsure about what had happened.
One said: "I think it was a nasty crash. My husband went past at about 6.30pm and then came back at 9pm and it was still closed."
