A Smart car which overturned led to a main road in Maidstone being closed for almost two hours last night.

The black coupe hit a bollard on the corner of Upper Stone Street and Loose Road, outside Big Ben's Fish and Chip Shop at 6.15pm, and ended up on its side.

As a result, police had to close close the road and traffic had to be diverted.

The road was reopened at 8pm.
