Cocaine found hidden under a bed during a search of a property on Christmas Eve has led to a man being jailed.
Scott Wilkinson, 30, and formerly of Lesley Place, Maidstone, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
He was jailed for three years and three months when he was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court yesterday.
Officers were investigating the supply of drugs in the local area and executed a warrant in Lesley Place, Maidstone on Christmas Eve 2016.
During a search of the property we found a plastic container under Wilkinson’s bed which was full of cocaine and further evidence of drug paraphernalia.
Police then searched Wilkinson and found one wrap of cocaine in his front pocket and a further six wraps in his wallet.
Investigating officer PC Stephen Little said: “It was following the fantastic work of local patrols in Maidstone that we were able to execute this search warrant and prevent these dangerous substances making it onto the streets.
“Our officers are committed to bringing offenders to justice who attempt to supply drugs in Kent. We will take proactive action to target those who, like Wilkinson, break the law in relation to drugs.”
This warrant was executed following a routine stop of 41-year-old man of the same address on St Annes Close, Maidstone on Friday, December 23, 2016.
A search of the vehicle found clear plastic bags containing cocaine. This prompted a search the address he shared with Wilkinson.
He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to for possessing a controlled class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a controlled class A drug and possession of a controlled class C drug.
The sentence was passed on 10 August 2017 at Maidstone Crown Court.
