A man and a teenager have been jailed after dealing drugs in Maidstone.
Both were from London.
Akeem Harris, 26, of Albert Road, South Norwood, was sentenced to three years and nine months and a 16-year-old boy from Catford received 18 months in a Youth Offender Institution.
The trial stems from an incident in June, when plain clothes officers went to a flat in The Farrows off Loose Road where they found Harris and the teenager sitting on a sofa in possession of crack cocaine and heroin with a street value of between £375 and £750, several mobile phones and £2,000 in cash.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and officers seized an Audi parked nearby that they suspected had been used by the suspects to travel into Kent.
They pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.
Chief Inspector Mick Gardner said: “My officers are alert to London drug dealers who seek to come to Maidstone and set themselves up at the homes of local residents.
“We acted swiftly after seeing known addicts congregating near an address and arrested the two dealers before they were able to meet their customers.
“These villains need to understand that we will bring them to justice as soon as they appear in the town and we not hesitate to apply for the confiscation of the proceeds of their crimes. In this case this includes the cash seized at the address, funds held in their bank accounts and their vehicle.”
