Three suspected drug dealers have been arrested near Maidstone after police stopped a rental car that has exceeded its hire period.

The vehicle had travelled from Bredhurst into Boxley at around 1.45am this morning before being pulled over in Styles Lane.

Suspicions were raised after officers spoke to the three occupants and they were taken to Maidstone police station for the purposes of a drug search.

A 21-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman from Dartford, and a 21-year-old man from Sutton Valence were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

A quantity of drugs believed to be cocaine was seized and all three remain in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.
