Fire crews spent nearly six hours tackling a fire at a block of flats.
Eight fire engines and a height vehicle were sent to the homes in Enterprise Road, in Maidstone, at 12.25pm yesterday.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze in the roof using main jets, hose reel jets and water from a hydrant.
The fire service's volunteer response team, police and paramedics also attended.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
Emergency teams stood down at 6.09pm.
