An electrical heater is believed to have been the cause of a fire at a house in Coxheath last night. The heater was left on while the owner was out of the building and caused furniture to ignite.
Two fire crews were called just after midnight and were on the scene for an hour. They used breathing apparatus to tackle the fire which was restricted to the ground floor of a property on Huntingdon Road.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check no-one was inside and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to drive smoke and fumes from the property.
There were no injuries.
