There has been a large emergency response due to a fire in an underground bunker.
Police, the fire service and paramedics were seen at a woodland off Hermitage Lane, in Maidstone.
The route was shut off in both directions between Hermitage Court and the entrance to the medical facility.
It later partially opened but police were still controlling traffic flow.
Part of the woodland was taped off by police.
Witnesses on social media have reported seeing multiple fire engines, police cars and vans, and a critical response car.
Kent Fire and Rescue has since confirmed that crews were called to an underground bunker fire at Fullingpits Wood.
Six fire engines attended, along with a technical rescue support unit.
Two people were passed into the care of paramedics at the scene.
Crews were called just before 2pm and left the scene at around 4.45pm.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: “The cause is not yet known.”
Officers also attended the scene at 2.11pm to complete traffic control while fire crews extinguished the blaze.
