Emergency services are at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash which is expected to cause hours of delays.

Motorists are currently queuing on the M20 between Junction 6 for Sandling and Junction 7 for Detling, near Maidstone.

A woman was taken to hospital after the collision with injuries not believed to be serious.

The road remains closed and a diversion is in place.

Two fire engines were called to the scene after reports of the three-car collision came in just after 9am. They let just after 10.30am.

A fire service spokesman said: “People are being asked to avoid the area and to please find an alternative route due to the heavy amount of traffic.”

National Highways expects the incident to be cleared just after 1pm.

Drivers are being told there are up to 40 minutes of delays.
