Emergency repair works are causing long delays around Maidstone this evening.

Motorists are warned of disruption as a result of the lane closure in Upper Stone Street.

The right-hand lane is closed near the junction with Brunswick Street.

Traffic cameras show queues stretching back to Palace Avenue and Bishops Way. The lane is expected to be closed until the end of the day.

Delays come less than two weeks before the start of major works on the town's gyratory system.
